SEGi Student Council Get-to-Gather 2013

Segi College Subang Jaya held its first ever Get-to-Gather event themed ‘Superheroes’ at Summit Hotel USJ, hosting participants from Student Representative Councils (SRC) from SEGi University Kota Damansara and SEGi College Penang. The two day event was attended by the Deputy Vice Chancellor of Segi Education Group Dato’ Professor Dr Jamaludin Mohaiadin who shared his views and visions for all SRCs across Segi Education Group.

The main objective of the event was to compare the operations of the Student Representative Councils in their respective campuses while at the same time share ideas that could elevate their portfolios as student leaders. Participants of the event were broken up into 4 teams and required brainstorm and come up with plans and proposals to move forward as a team for all SEGi campuses

Other more important issues were discussed such as standardizing the name of the councils, dress codes in campuses and control of SRC towards other clubs and societies. The organizers also prepared games and drama skits to entertain and allow the participants to get to know each other better. The event ended on a high note with an inclusive Sunway Lagoon trip and photo taking session. Anand Vijey Manicam, Senior Executive of Student Affairs Department said “We are honored and privileged to host this event which is very beneficial to all campuses in SEGi. I believe there will be similar events held in the near future to ensure our SRCs are able to be great communicators between the management and our students.” “The role of Student Council is very important in every higher learning institution in making and preparing future leaders of the country” he added.
